Trails vs Timbers

Need a refresher on what all of this “Trails” vs “Timbers” talk is about? Continue reading to learn more about our brand-new Camp experience at Timbers and refamiliarize yourself with Trails, Cho-Yeh’s original Camp!

Welcome Back to Trails – Where the Adventure Begins!

Trails is our original campground that returning families and retreat groups know and love. With favorites like the Adventure Park, Lake Evelyn, and Bullseye Bend, it offers over 40 exciting activities for our 1st-8th grade campers to embark on. All of our campsites will still be full of energy and fun this summer, like the Hollow, Hill, and Ridge! That means our Explorers and Pathfinders get even more space to explore parts of Camp that they otherwise wouldn’t see until they are older.

At the heart of all the excitement, remains the Dining Hall and Lake Evelyn, where cabins come together for meals, laughs, and the best lake adventures. Plus, it’s where everyone gets to watch those unforgettable Camp sunsets!

First Look at Timbers – Worth the Wait!

Timbers was exclusively designed for Sojourners, our oldest campers entering 9th-11th grade! We wanted to give them a unique Camp experience that takes the tradition of Trails and Cho-Yeh to a new level, while fully immersing them in Southeast Texas’s natural environment.

There’s an epic experience everywhere you look, like the ChOasis – a poolside paradise, complete with a snack bar and lounge chairs. Want to push some limits? Head up to the Treetop Adventure Park, where new high ropes elements and a 360° climbing wall will have you reaching new heights. And don’t miss the TimberGlide—a zipline that’s nearly twice as long as Trails’s and sends four campers soaring at once. That’s double the fun, with a view to match!

After a full day of outdoor adventures and a refueling dinner in the brand-new Dining Hall (where there might be a breakfast waffle bar…), campers will head back to their cozy Treehouse-style cabins that blend modern comfort with that classic Camp Cho-Yeh feel. And for a special few? The only way to their cabin is across the double-helix bridge, connecting the Overlook cabins to the rest of Timbers. Yes, it’s as cool as it sounds.

We are so excited for our campers to finally see Timbers this summer and get to experience the Land of the Tall Pines in an all-new way.
