The Perfect Mid-Day Oasis
Every day, your camper will get the chance to spend some time at the Trading Post – Camp Cho-Yeh’s one-stop-shop for snacks, games, Cho-Gear, and A/C! This is where campers will purchase the new flavor of Blue Bell ice cream, try an interesting drink combo created by a summer staff leader, and check out what hats are in stock, all while hanging out with new friends.
There are two separate Trading Posts, one for Trails and one for Timbers, so that each age group gets their own tailored experience with exclusive, age-specific items to shop from.
🍭 And no need to worry about sugar overload! The Trails crew has a sweet system in place: a max of three treats per visit for younger campers. Smart and delicious.
But this camper-favorite activity is more than just a break from the Texas heat. It’s a chance to build friendships, practice independence, and learn a little about budgeting.
Managing Your Camper’s Account
You may have noticed the “View Trading Post Accounts” tab in your parent account. Here, you can keep tabs on your camper’s spending and add funds anytime you like. (NOTE: You will be able to see a live balance, but not what they are buying.) And when you pick up your camper at Closing Day, you can splurge the remaining balance at the Trading Post, tidying up the account, or choose to get it refunded straight back to your card one week after Camp ends.
💸 Planning tip:
-
For younger campers, $50+ usually covers their daily snack and drink fix, with a little extra for a shirt or fun item.
-
For older campers, $75+ gives more wiggle room for them to purchase higher end items like a sweatshirt or backpack.
